Course Description

enrich currently runs three courses, Good Habits with Money, Good Planning with Money and Confidence and Communication. Each course runs over four hours in one or two sessions. Participants will be invited to a follow up mentoring session 2-3 months after they attend the workshops.

GOOD HABITS WITH MONEY ™

Good Habits with Money is a personal finance course designed by a+b=3 especially for migrant workers in Hong Kong. Through the example of Maria, a domestic worker who would like to get out of debts, students learn to:
o       Get organized
o       Calculate their financial situation
o       Set financial goals
o       Determine savings needs
o       Understand how compound interest and loans work
o       Understand how to get out of debt
o       Develop a budget
o       Track and monitor expenses
o       How to deal with family pressure
o       Tips on how to save

GOOD PLANNING WITH MONEY ™

This is a level 2 course on personal finance for participants who have completed Good Habits with Money. During this session participants:
o       Review what they have learnt from Good Habits with Money
o       Learn more tips on getting out of debt, controlling expenses and budgeting
o       Gain techniques for discipline and time management
o       Explore more ways of dealing with family demands
o       Set goals for their long term plans
o       Gain an overview of risk, insurance and investments
o       Learn how to spot scams

SETTING UP MY BUSINESS *NEW*

is tailored made as a basic of entrepreneurship for migrant workers. Due to a high and growing demand for workshop in business course and with the kind support of A and B make 3 Ltd, the participants will explore what a business is and ideas of businesses, writing a business plan and basics on marketing and book keeping. It is ideal for participants who would like to set up a business but are not sure where to start!

More courses on financial literacy and setting up a business are organised by our partner a+b=3 Ltd .

CONFIDENCE AND COMMUNICATION™

Confidence and Communication is a highly interactive fun course designed to empower women to communicate better with those around them. Through role-plays and exercises, participants practice effective communication and share their experiences in a supportive environment. Areas covered include:

o     Overcoming the challenges of self-confidence     
o     How to look and feel more confident 
o     Becoming aware of your rights and the sources of your limitations
o     How to feel comfortable and confident with your personal image
o     Preparing to negotiate
o     Strategies and techniques for assertive negotiation
o     How to deal with emotions
o     Practicing to communicate with confidence

SPEAK OUT LOUD: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

This 3-hour workshop focus on EOC's Sex Discrimination Ordinance. The workshop will be based on an interactive role-play as well as group discussion. The participants will have a chance to share their experience and recognize their rights in view of dealing with sexual harassment. Through our course, the participants will learn assertiveness in order to make it clear to the harasser that the behavior is not tolerated.  

PERSONAL ENRICHMENT

This workshop will raise awareness of the personal financial issues faced by some of the most vulnerable target groups such as ethnic minorities here in Hong Kong, and encourage them to make informed financial decisions and increase their financial independence and well-being as well as learn to assert themselves and voice their needs and opinions effectively.
